Tuesday, March 7

Check-in and Light Breakfast - RiverCentre - St. Paul

8:30 - 10:30 am Meeting with Legislators

Free, Pre-registration is required.
Your home address is also requested so legislative meetings can be scheduled appropriately.

This is your opportunity to learn about and participate in MMGMA’s grassroots efforts. We all know the benefits of networking in our day-to-day professional lives. The same philosophy can be applied to our efforts advocating on behalf of our patients and practices at the legislature. Join your colleagues from around the state as we hear from our lobbyists and from a number of state legislators.

Morning at the Capitol is able to return to its previous format (including one-on-one legislator meetings), now that the state capitol restoration project has been completed. We will start the morning as a group in Room 300N of the State Office Building (SOB). After that group meeting with key legislative leaders regarding the MMGMA Legislative Priorities, members will disburse to attend the individual meetings that will be set up on their behalf. Scheduling those meetings with each legislator will take some time, so please register early and remember to provide your home address. Legislators prefer to hear from the constituents who elect them, as well as those who have businesses in their districts.

Attendance is limited to 50 people and pre-registration is required.

Legislators want to know how their decisions will affect their local communities and this is your opportunity to get involved in the political process. Members with little political experience are especially encouraged to join us! We look forward to your participation in this exciting activity.

  • Gather with your colleagues to learn how you can make a difference and how the Capitol works from our lobbyists from Messerli & Kramer.
  • Receive tips for communicating with legislators.
  • As a group, interact with key legislative policy makers and hear expectations for the 2017 session.
  • Receive and discuss talking points related to MMGMA legislative priorities that you can use in future meetings with your legislative representatives.
  • Enjoy the camaraderie of your colleagues.

Transportation will be on your own. Please allow ample time for commuting and parking. There will be parking available in the RiverCentre ramp, located across the street from the venue.
