Preview New Medicaid Encounter Alert Service
Dec. 12, 2017

▲ back to top

The MMA will host a webinar on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, 7:00 AM to preview the Minnesota Department of Human Services’ new Medicaid Encounter Alert Service (EAS). The alert service will enable physicians and other providers to receive alerts for Medical Assistance beneficiaries who have been admitted, discharged, or transferred from a hospital, emergency department, or other care setting. The state has selected Audacious Inquiry (Ai) as the EAS vendor for Minnesota.

The encounter alert service is designed to support care coordination, reduce hospital readmissions, and enable improved management of cost-effective care delivery. The EAS will help physicians and other providers identify where patients are receiving care throughout the state, regardless of electronic health record. The service is being launched, initially, as part of the state’s Integrated Health Partnership value-based care delivery initiative, and is funded through the State Innovation Model (SIM) grant.

This webinar is directed at physicians, care coordinators, and practice managers who are part of an Integrated Health Partnership, ACO, or other value-based payment program.

Past President’s Get Together Inspires Reflection on MMGMA, Past and Present

▲ back to top

The MMGMA Executive Committee was pleased to begin the 2017-2018 administrative year hosting a get-together for our Past Presidents. Meeting at Poor Richard’s Commonhouse in late October, the event provided an excellent opportunity for reflection, perspective and discussion of the successes and challenges of MMGMA past as well as those we face today.

“It is quite impressive to see the ongoing commitment of our past presidents,” says Sandy Rutherford, Immediate Past President. “These leaders continue to be extremely engaged and supportive of the organization and our mission.  The insight and advice shared is invaluable.”

Past Presidents are acknowledged at our annual conferences and are always willing to be available for questions or feedback from our members. This is one of many benefits of MMGMA membership.
