Gregory Alch

Gregory AlchGregory is a Licensed Psychologist and Organization Consultant in practice for more than 28 years. He is the founder and President of Method 44, an organization consulting group.

He has worked extensively with organizations providing executive coaching, leadership development, team building, training, and other change initiatives focused on bringing out the best in their employees in positive and productive ways. Gregory earned his B.I.S. degree at the University of Minnesota, his M.A. in Counseling Psychology at UCLA, and his Ed.D. in Organization Development at the University of St. Thomas (Mpls., Minn).

Jesse Berg

Jesse BergJesse Berg counsels health care providers on federal and state anti-kickback laws, the Stark physician self-referral law, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, enrollment and participation issues, HIPAA and state privacy and confidentiality matters, as well as federal and state antitrust issues. Jesse provides legal guidance to a variety of different types of health care providers, including public and private hospitals, physician groups of various sizes and specialties, and ancillary service providers, such as imaging facilities and ambulatory surgery centers.

Brett Chambers

Brett ChambersBrett has been involved with information technology and operations for more than 15 years. He has served in both technical and leadership roles, in both the private sector, and Armed Forces. Brett holds an M.S. in Information Technology and continues to be both directly and indirectly involved with progressive technology solutions within organizations.

Shelly Davis

Shelly DavisShelly Davis is a senior claim consultant at MMIC. In this role, Shelly reviews and manages claims and oversees litigation brought against MMIC insureds. She is also a member of MMIC’s Patient Safety Solutions team. Shelly’s past practice was as a lawyer in the area of insurance defense. Shelly worked as a registered nurse before obtaining her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1992.

Dave Feinwachs

Dave FeinwachsDave is a licensed nursing home administrator, an assistant professor of health law and policy and teacher in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. He holds Masters’ degrees in Hospital Administration and Medical Sociology and a Ph.D. in healthcare management from the University of Minnesota, as well as a law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law. In 2005, Dave was named among Minnesota’s 25 most influential healthcare lawyers by Minnesota Physician Magazine.

Tim Johnson

Tim JohnsonTim’s practice includes the general and special representation of healthcare organizations, including national healthcare provider, health systems, hospitals, single- and multi-specialty physician groups, home health agencies, nursing homes, local and national ancillary service providers, and other healthcare providers and suppliers. Tim is a Certified Public Accountant, and prior to becoming an attorney, he was also director of corporate finance for a major healthcare provider in the Chicago metropolitan area. He previously taught Health Law and Nonprofit Law at IIT Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis, Minn.

Julia Marotte

Julia MarotteAs a former mental health practitioner, Julia Marotte provides a unique combination of legal and practical experience in the health care field. Drawing on this critical ground-level perspective, she counsels providers on HIPAA and state privacy, confidentiality, reimbursement, enrollment, and participation issues. Julia also advises a variety of health care organizations on governance, contracting, and other federal and state regulatory matters. With a career concentration on Health Law and Bioethics, she has undergone extensive training in HIPAA, the Stark physician self-referral law, and federal and state anti-kickback laws.

Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Julia clerked with the health law team at the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and with a national health insurance company.

Janet Silversmith

Janet SilversmithJanet is the director of health policy and member services for the Minnesota Medical Association. In this position, she is responsible for providing leadership to ensure strategic direction and operational alignment of MMA member services, including advocacy, education, events, and communications. She leads MMA advocacy strategy development and implementation, and the analysis and development of MMA policy positions. She has more than 20 years of experience in health policy and holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.

Candace Simerson

Cansdace SimersonCandace S. Simerson is President/Chief Operating Officer at Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. In addition to 25 years of experience in medical practice management, Candy is a Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE), and a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE.) She also received a certificate in Advanced Health Care Management (CAHCM) from the University of St. Thomas. She has also lectured and published numerous articles regarding practice management trends.

Mat Spann

Mat Spann, MPA, has worked with the state of Minnesota since 2008 in implementing and developing health policy and payment reform initiatives. Mat’s previous state projects have included the development of the state’s All-Payer Claims Database and overseeing the creation of a hospital and physician clinic cost and quality comparison tool. Mat earned his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of New Orleans.

Joanne Stadnik

Joanne StadnikJoanne D. Stadnik, FACMPE, is a successful healthcare industry leader – with 30 years of hands-on experience driving profitable clinic operations, growth management, and patient experience strategies amid significant industry change. Since 2004, Joanne has been the Executive Director of North Clinic – one of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area’s largest and most successful independent healthcare organizations.
