Government Affairs Happy Hour Event

Tuesday, December 10, 2019 | BENT Brewstillery

Join us for beer, chili and networking! MMGMA’s Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is hosting a fun (and tasty) event and all MMGMA members and affiliates are invited! You do not have to be interested in politics and you don’t have to be knowledgeable about MMGMA’s legislative work.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample different chilis and beers (or non-alcoholic beverages) and spend time reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. We have also invited a few state legislators who work on healthcare policy issues. They are interested in learning more about the challenges and issues affecting patients and medical practices in Minnesota, so don’t hesitate to share stories and examples with them. We’ll also have a preview document with MMGMA’s 2020 Legislative Priorities available at the event and GAC members will be there to talk about the initiatives and answer any questions.

The Chili Cook-Off:

There is no cost to attend and all guests will get to sample and enjoy the Chili Cook-Off entries. Plus - each attendee who contributes to the MMGMA Political Action Committee (PAC) will also get a ticket to vote for People’s Choice Chili. (Each $20.00 contribution = 1 voting ticket.) There will also be judging by our guest legislators. GAC members will be providing other refreshments to compliment the tasty chilis. Do you have a great recipe and want to enter the chili contest for bragging rights and prizes? If yes, please email Lisa Belak at lisa.belak@mngi.com before December 1st. We can accommodate the first 8 requests. Additional entries will be determined by space and the availability of electrical support for crockpots/cookers.

Supporting the MMGMA-PAC:

While this is a fundraising event, a PAC contribution is not required to attend. The PAC is an important tool used by MMGMA to raise money, which is then contributed to support legislative leaders who author and assist with legislation that is significant to MMGMA members. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated and will be used wisely.

Note: The taproom is in an industrial and commercial area, not far from Rosedale Center and close to 35W and Highway 36. There is free parking and we can inquire about tours of the taproom and distillery for those who are interested.
