History
The Minnesota Medical Group Management Association (MMGMA), though founded in 1951, has roots as far back as 1890 with the birth of group practice in southern Minnesota. The first meeting of the National Association of Clinic Managers in 1926 had also developed an exchange of correspondence pertaining to problems of clinic administration.
Today, MMGMA has a diverse membership that consists of administrators, CEO's, physicians, office managers, business partners, students and many others. MMGMA is a group that is known to be one of the premier professional organizations.
Preserving the history of the MMGMA was a priority for the organization and in 1990 the first version of the association's history was recorded. "L'Etoile du Nord: The First Forty Years of the Minnesota Medical Group Management Association", was authored by lifetime MMGMA member William E. Costello, FACMPE. The history has been brought up-to-date and the information transferred to this web site to be available for all current and future MMGMA members in an easy-to-search layout. We hope that you enjoy being part of an organization with such deep history.
