Allan Baumgarten

 

Allan Baumgarten is a Minneapolis-based analyst of health care markets. He publishes the annual Minnesota Health Market Review and reports analyzing health care payer and provider markets and organizations in eight other states. He also conducts research for clients including provider systems, pharmaceutical companies and organizations like the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. His law degree is from the University of Minnesota and his Master’s degree from the University’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs.


 

 

Matt Brandt

 

Matt Brandt currently is CEO of Multicare Associates. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Multicare Associates as well as Business Operations and Finance Manager of HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and entrepreneurship from Miami University.


 

 

Suzanne Falk

 

As a member liaison for MGMA Government Affairs, Suzanne works closely with her D.C. colleagues to represent the medical group practice voice in Washington, converting member feedback into direct advocacy with policy makers. She coordinates Association grassroots efforts, frequently speaks at MGMA state and national meetings, and serves as an informational resource to MGMA members, helping to navigate complex details of new federal regulations and legislation. Since joining MGMA in 2012, Suzanne has cultivated an expertise in federal policies that have a direct, daily impact on medical group practices, including quality reporting programs and new value-based payment initiatives.

 

Prior to joining MGMA, Suzanne interned for a senior U.S. Congressman from Maryland in both his district and Capitol Hill offices. She holds a degree in government from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, where she specialized in healthcare and domestic economic policy.


 

 

Mark S. Fisher, MBA, FACMPE

 

Mark has over 40 years of Health Care.    
He’s been in Leadership roles in small, medium, and large integrated organizations such as
Park Nicollet, Allina, Aspen and UMP. 

 

He is a Faculty member in the UST-MBA Health Care program where he most recently taught Financing and Spending in the U.S. Health Care System.

 

Mark is a Past President of the MMGMA. 


 

David Glaser

 

David M. Glaser is a shareholder in Fredrikson & Byron's Health Law Group. David assists clinics, hospitals, and other health care entities negotiate the maze of health care regulations, providing advice about risk management, reimbursement, and business planning issues. He has considerable experience in health care regulation and litigation, including compliance, criminal and civil fraud investigations, and reimbursement disputes. David's goal is to explain the government's enforcement position and to analyze whether this position is supported by the law or represents government overreaching.


 

Alan Haskins

 

Alan Haskins is President and Chief Executive Officer at Nimble Impressions in St.Paul, MN. He is a tireless brand builder and marketing expert. He has served the Medical Industry most of his career and understands the Minnesota climate for marketing medical practices. Combining both medical industry knowledge and that of many other industries served has created powerful results for customers.


 

Ryan Johnson

 

Ryan is a nationally recognized lawyer for innovative health care companies. Ryan has helped many of his clients develop and launch innovative business models designed to improve health care quality, accessibility, and affordability. He regularly counsels senior executives, corporate boards, and policy-makers on the strategic threats and opportunities arising from emerging technologies and new laws and regulations. Ryan has considerable experience in structuring and negotiating health care transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and financings. His clients include leading digital health and health care IT companies, national pharmacies and retail clinics, health care physician and dental management companies, international health care franchisors, independent physician practices, and many other innovative health care entrepreneurs and inventors.


 

Mark J. Lindquist

 

Mark J. Lindquist has appeared in ABC's LOST, CBS' Hawaii Five-O and the Universal Studios movie "Battleship." He is a world-touring entertainer who has performed live for over 2 million people in 22 countries and 44 states throughout his career. As a highly sought-after National Anthem singer, he performs for the largest crowds in America for teams such as the Minnesota Vikings, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Duke University Men's Basketball, the College World Series, the NCAA and in venues such as Madison Square Garden. Mark is a former Sergeant in the United States Air Force and an Afghanistan War Veteran who is based out of Fargo, North Dakota."


 

Scott Nelson

Scott Nelson is a leadership coach, corporate trainer and senior partner at Clarity Central based in Minneapolis, MN. His emotional intelligence, authentic feedback and ability to teach personal awareness have been integral in his success.

 

Scott has done post-graduate work in ontology following his BBA. He started his career as a sales manager while also training and speaking on the topic of influential communication. He then began working at Mayo Clinic as a conflict resolution mediator for patients and physicians.

 

Scott’s leadership coaching career began in 2005 when he graduated from the Ideal Coaching Academy as a certified effectiveness coach. He is also a paid-on-call firefighter.

Scott has worked with people of incredibly varied backgrounds including Maasai tribes in Tanzania, executive leaders in corporate America, and staff in health care, public schools, local and federal government. Scott is also a leadership communications instructor for the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business Executive Education as well as for the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs.


 

 

James Olney, Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting

 

James has extensive experience in the field of employment practices and was a plaintiff’s attorney for almost a decade before coming to Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting in 1999. He provides guidance on a daily basis to employers of all sizes regarding every imaginable issue related to having employees. In addition to working directly with employers, James writes articles on employment issues and regularly conducts in-depth training to both managers and HR professionals. He is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conferences and is a popular instructor at the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing Education. He also serves as an advisor and consultant for Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting’s executive and risk management groups. James received his law degree from the University of Minnesota and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis.


 

 

Dennis Whipperling, MBA, FACMPE

 

Dennis Wipperling was the practice administrator for Surgical Specialists of Minnesota, a general surgery specialty practice until they were acquired by Allina on April 1st.  He has over 30 years of health care leadership experience and has most recently worked for physician-owned single specialty practices.  He has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.


 

Brent Wilde

 

Brent L. Wilde is the President of Minnesota Eye Consultants, PA. Minnesota Eye Consultants is a dynamic organization of respected ophthalmologists, with extraordinary educational and professional credentials, who are passionate about patient care and dedicated to improving quality of life through life-changing vision procedures and treatments. Previously, Wilde was CEO of Kidney Specialists of Minnesota. He has also held executive positions at the University of Minnesota Physicians; Emergency Physicians, PA and Fairview Health Services. Wilde earned a Master of Business Administration in new venture management and entrepreneuring from the University of St. Thomas. He is highly skilled in leading organizations; strategic, operational and financial planning; and creating high performing teams.
