To my fellow MMGMA members, friends and business partners; I am excited to have the opportunity to lead our MMGMA organization over the next twelve months. We are all working directly or indirectly in an industry that is undergoing change, restructuring, and technological advancement in a manner that has never existed before. Our MMGMA organization will play a critical and important role for you as a go to for knowledge; information sharing; advocacy and to offer you a steady hand when needed. As we enter our new year I would like to acknowledge the work of our past Board members and to William Evans, our Past President. Our incoming Board members and Executive Committee members are as strong and talented as we have ever had. I would also highlight the very capable service we receive from Synergos, AMC for our contracted management support.
This year we will hold our Winter Conference at the Minneapolis Depot and Summer Conference at Breezy Point. In addition and for what has now become our third major conference, Day with Payers will be held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center. We look forward to seeing you at the conferences. I also want to acknowledge our important business partners who join our organization and work with us to make the conferences successful. It would be impossible to do what we do without you. MMGMA asks for your continued support through annual sponsorship, event sponsorship, exhibiting and sharing your expert knowledge.
We will begin to operate more closely with MGMA National in 2015. You will see this in our new logo design, in our communications and educational offerings. Not to worry, we will maintain our strong Minnesota individualism and character which has carried us for over 50 years.
MGMA is now offering a webinar “The First Line of Defense: Preparing Your Practice for Emerging Communicable Diseases.” Topics covered will be the use of correct personal protective equipment; cleaning and disinfection procedures; and training of staff to recognize potential issues. The webinar is free to MGMA members with a cost for non-members of $199. More information and registration.
