Committees set new strategic goals
As a member-driven organization, we rely on the effort, energy, and ideas of our members for our ongoing success. We invited all committee members to participate in our annual strategic planning effort on Sept. 12. More than 40 members came together to help establish our 2013-'14 committee goals. These goals and plans will drive MMGMA’s initiatives and serve as the foundation for our efforts throughout the upcoming year. Thank you to everyone who participated!

MN Community Measures seeks public comment on proposed Total Cost of Care Measurement
Public comment period will conclude on October 15th. Comments can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Background: Total Cost of Care (TCOC) is a measure of all costs associated with treating patients based on expected costs, and includes professional, facility inpatient and outpatient, pharmacy, lab, radiology, ancillary and behavioral health services.
Measure: The specifications, developed by the TCOC TAG, are a measure of the average total cost per commercial patient by medical group and adjusted for patient’s health risk. Patients will be attributed to a medical group based on that medical group having a majority of that patient’s primary care claims.
Data collection and validation process: Medical groups will not be asked to submit data for this measure. Participating health plans will submit administrative data grouped by medical group. MNCM will aggregate the data and submit a report to medical groups for review. Medical groups will have an option of requesting a report from health plans of attributed patients during the validation process.
