MMGMA Committee Updates
Government Affairs Committee:
Health Care Quality Measures Adopted Rule
In December, Minnesota Department of Health adopted a new Minnesota Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System, created through Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4654. This rule compels physician clinics, ambulatory surgical centers, and hospitals to submit data on a set of quality measures to be publicly reported and also establishes a broader standardized set of quality measures for health care providers across the state.
Payer Relations Committee:
ICD-10 testing update: The Minnesota ICD-10 Collaborative confirmed, based on discussion with payers and vendors, that small- to medium-sized provider groups will not have the opportunity for ICD-10 end-to-end testing. The Collaborative will publish a Test Strategy Status Update on the status of end-to-end testing between Minnesota Payers, third-party vendors and providers. Watch for this document on mmgma.org in early February to track the status of those involved in testing. MMGMA is a member of the Minnesota ICD-10 Collaborative.
January 2014 AUC newsletter: The Minnesota Administrative Uniformity Committee represents Minnesota health care public and private payers, hospitals, health care providers and state agencies. The group works to standardize and simplify health care administrative processes. Among other news, the January newsletter addresses a proposed rule that health plans must certify that their data and information systems comply with federally adopted standards and associated operating rules.
