Registration is now open for Winter Conference 2018!

▲ back to top

We are very excited about the 2018 MMGMA Winter Conference and sincerely hope you can join us! For two days in March, we will gather at the St. Paul RiverCentre to learn new concepts, reconnect with colleagues and friends, make new acquaintances and become energized with new perspectives, connections and insights.

We have a dynamic line-up of speakers at the conference this winter! Lou Carbone, Founder and Chief Experience Officer at ExperienceEngineering will get us fired up about creating exceptional customer experiences on our first day, and James Hereford, the new President/ CEO of Fairview Health Services, will discuss innovation and the forces that will shape healthcare in Minnesota during the next decade.

We will be offering breakout sessions on both days in three tracks: Human Resources/ Marketing, Finance/Revenue Cycle and Information Systems. We encourage you to invite managers from your organizations who have responsibility for these areas to join us. Your conference will start with the popular “Morning at the Capitol” on Tuesday, March 6. It is a great opportunity for you to meet, often one-on-one, with elected officials from your districts who can make a big difference in how care is provided to the patients we serve. Make time to share your insights and concerns.

Do yourself and your organization a favor by registering online now for the 2018 Winter Conference. Your colleagues on the MMGMA Conference Committee have been working hard to bring you a top- notch event – with great educational sessions, plenty of networking opportunities, laughs and pleasant surprises.

Can’t wait to see you at the best MMGMA Winter Conference yet this March in St. Paul!

Co-hosted HIMSS Event has Great Feedback

▲ back to top

MMGMA collaborated on its first joint program with the HIMSS Minnesota Chapter earlier this month: Agree or disagree – The use of Health Information Technology has led to more provider satisfaction than burnout. This topic sparked a lot of interest and was well received, although attendance was somewhat impacted by December weather.

“The event was very well done… HIMSS is an impressive professional association with well over 1,000 members in its Minnesota chapter. We are exploring collaborating with them on future events.” – Mike Foley, MMGMA Conference and Education Chair

2018 will continue to be a year for exploring and building stronger collaborations with organizations which closely align with MMGMA member interests, such as HIMSS. We look forward to expanding opportunities for our members!

Breakfast with our Future

▲ back to top

Have you thought about who will be running your practice in another 20 years? In an effort to continue connecting with those young men and women who are already working to become the future leaders of the medical industry, MMGMA hosted its first Student Networking Breakfast at the University of Minnesota on November 30. There was a great turnout (60+ RSVPS) of both MMGMA Members, and U of M students from the Health Service Management undergraduate program. The 90 minute breakfast included networking as well as a short presentation on MMGMA. Feedback from students and U of M faculty was very positive. Students were impressed with the great level of experience, and diversity of positions held by the MMGMA members who helped host the breakfast. Since the breakfast, at least 10 students have joined MMGMA as Student Members, underscoring the value our future leaders find in connecting to our current leaders! We look forward to planning another Breakfast with our Future event in 2018 – if you missed this past November networking breakfast, consider joining the next one to share your wisdom with the next generation.
